Come with us now, on a journey through time and space, to the land of Old School RPGs! Gamers of all experience levels welcome!
LAST TIME ON BARBARIANS OF THE RUINED EARTH:
A fairy released from a jar brings Crunchy back to life. Glizzlegus succeeds in summoning Cratatio and Finus while failing to use her sorcery to unpickle herself. Angst awakens from a dream of cosmic annihilation to interrupt slime cultists creating a puke golem. Cratatio utterly fails to prevent Borkibok from making a bad life decision. The group ponders the implications of an unlocked door that cannot be opened before giving in to the omniscient narrator’s promptings to give up and enter the room just as they are confronted by themselves opening said door from the other side. When the completely not a plot shield smoke clears, who is the original and who is the copy? Should they have kept the copy of Glizzlegus instead of assisting the original? These questions unanswered and more as Barbarians of the Ruined Earth continues... IN SEARCH OF THE UNKNOWN!
The game itself will be hosted virtually on Roll20 but in person participation will be available. If you would rather participate virtually, please register here: https://boone.libnet.info/event/5312560.
WHAT’S THIS?
Barbarians of the Ruined Earth is a quick and easy rules-lite post-apocalyptic heroic fantasy game that is based on the awesome The Black Hack rules by David Black and is inspired by the animated series Thundarr the Barbarian, Mad Max, He-Man, and other sources.
THE CORE MECHANIC
Every action a character might possibly attempt that could result in failure is resolved by testing attribute stats; in order to successfully test a stat, a player must roll below it on a d20. Enemies don’t make tests, instead a character must avoid their attacks by making a test. The only time an enemy would roll is for damage.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS WILL BE A VIRTUAL EVENT!
When you register for the event, please include your e-mail address and your choice for character class. (Character classes include: Barbarian, Death Priest, Scavenger, Urchin, Beastman, Robot, Vek (raptorfolk), and Sorcerer.)
